DutyWhen Sunday comes,
do you trudge wearily
fulfilling what seems like
an obliging duty?
When Sunday comes,
do you shout triumphantly
fulfilling what seems like
an occlusive prophecy?
We all have duties,
Something that divides our
resonating responsibilities.
We need clarity.
When Sunday comes,
Leaving our cargo ships;
we abandon our duties.
With alacrity-
we embrace a relationship!
Our duty to thee,
let it be a decree:
let it not be just religious piety,
let it not be just murmured phrases.
let it not be just empty visages!
When Sunday comes,
Let us have a great call,
Learning that our great duty,
Is not pious, religious, nor
Pharisaical duty.
Our duty is to love.
when Sunday comes.
Our duty is when
Monday is traumatizing,
Tuesday is mesmerizing,
Wednesday is tantalizing,
Thursday is excruciating,
Friday is out of syntax,
and Saturday is the day of rest,
We love.
When Sunday comes,
we seek Love,
not duty.
When we see Doves,
we see God.
